Kings and Queens of Great Britain - Victoria  (1837 to 1901)

VICTORIA, Queen of Great Britain and Ireland; born at Kensington Palace, 24 May 1819; succeeded her uncle as Queen of Great Britain, 20 June 1837; Crowned 28 June 1838; proclaimed Empress of India at Delhi, 1 January 1877, married at St. James's Palace, 10 February 1840, Francis Albert Augustus Charles Emmanuel, Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha; created Prince Consort by Letters Patent, under the Great Seal, 25 June 1857; KG, Field-Marshal (2nd son of Ernest I, Reigning Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha), born at Rosenau, near Coburg, 26 August 1819; died at Windsor, 14 December 1861 buried at Frogmore). They had issue,

1. ALBERT EDWARD VII, Prince of Wales, afterwards King.

2. Alfred Ernest Albert, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, in succeeded to his uncle, Duke Ernst II, 22 August 1893, Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Kent and Earl of Ulster, KG, Admiral of the Fleet, born 6 August 1844, married 23 January 1874, Grand Duchess Marie Alexandrovna died 25 October 1920), only daughter of Alexander II, Emperor of all the Russias, and died 30 July 1900, leaving issue (and was succeeded in Saxe-Coburg and Gotha by his nephew, Charles Edward, 2nd Duke of Albany see below),

1. Alfred Alexander William Ernest Albert, KG, Hereditary Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, born 15 October 1874; died in the lifetime of his father 6 February 1899.

1. Marie Alexandra Victoria, born 20 October 1875, married 10 January 1893, Ferdinand, King of Roumania, KG died 20 July 1927), died 18 July 1938, having had issue.

2. Victoria Melita (Victoria Feodorovna), born 25 November 1876, married 1stly, 19 April 1894 marriage dissolved by divorce 21 December 1901), Ernest Louis, Reigning Grand Duke of Hesse (1892-1918), KG died 9 October 1937), and had issue.

3. Alexandra Louise Olga Victoria, born.1 September 1878, married 20 April, 1896, Ernst Wilhelm Friedrich Karl Maximilian, 7th Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, GCB, Regent of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha 1900-05 ( died 11 December 1950), and died 16 April 1942, leaving issue.

4. Beatrice Leopoldine Victoria, VA, had Grand Cross of Order of Maria Louisa of Spain, born 20 April, 1884, married 15 July 1909, Don Alfonso, Infante of Spain, 3rd Duke of Galliera, and died 18 July 1966, having had issue.
