OXFORD UNIVERSITY

Oxford University is the oldest English-speaking university in the world and teaching has existed at Oxford since 1096.

The university is made up of fourty separate colleges and the oldest is University College established in 1249. There have been many famous people who have studied at Oxford Univeristy and they include Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Christopher Wren, Edmund Halley, Henry Pelham, William Pitt the Elder, William Morris, J R R Tolkien and Baroness Margaret Thatcher.
