HENLEY ROYAL REGATTA

Henley Regatta has been held since 1839 and in the early years took place over an afternoon. The popularity of the event has increased somewhat since it's inception and now the event takes place over five days in July.

In 1851 H.R.H. Prince Albert became the Royal patron of Henley and since this date the reigning Monarch has stood as Patron to the event. The regatta is now known as Henley Royal Regatta and often receives a Royal visit, the most recent being Princess Anne in 1999.
