Markree Castle is situated in Co. Sligo, Ireland and has been the home of the Cooper family for 350 years. In 1989 the castle was converted by its present owner Charles Cooper to a hotel. Today Markree is a luxury hotel with many features including a monumental staircase and a huge stained glass window depicting the family tree of the Coopers.
