IRELAND - DARVER CASTLE

Darver Castle is over 500 years old and is set in fifty acres of parkland in County Louth on the East Coast of Ireland. The Castle was built by the Babe family in the 12th century and has survived enemy attacks throughout the ages. The Babe family sold the castle in 1740 to Ranfal Booth and his descendents lived at Darver until 1980. The castle was later sold to the Carville family in 1997 and the family have renovated and refurbished it making it a luxury castle hotel.
