Precedence in Scotland
1-The Sovereign.
2-The Duke of Edinburgh.
3-Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland when it is in session.
4-Duke of Rothesay (title held by the Prince of Wales).
The rest of the royal family are as for precedence in England.
5-Lords Lieutenant of counties during their terms of office and within the county and Lord Provosts of cities (who are Lords Lieutenant of counties of cities ex-officio), subject to the same conditions as Lords Lieutenant.
6-Sheriffs Principal during their terms of office and only when within the boundaries of their counties, cities or sheriffdoms.
7-The Lord Chancellor.
8-The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland during his term of office.
9-The Prime Minister.
10-The Secretary of State for Scotland as Keeper of the Great Seal of Scotland if a peer.
11-The Keeper of the Privy Seal of Scotland if a peer.
12-The Earl of Erroll as Hereditary High Constable of Scotland.
13-The Duke of Argyll as Hereditary Master of the Household in Scotland.
The rest as in England, till:
14-Dukes' younger sons.
15-The Secretary of State for Scotland as Keeper of the Great Seal of Scotland if not a peer.
16-The Keeper of the Privy Seal of Scotland if not a peer.
17-Lord Justice-General.
18-Lord Clerk Register.
19-Lord Advocate.
20-Lord Justice-Clerk.
21-Viscounts, as in England.

22-Privy Counsellors.
23-Senators of the College of Justice (Lords of Session), including the Chairman of the Scottish Land Court.
24-Viscounts' younger sons, as in England.

25-Knights Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
26-Solicitor-General for Scotland.
27-Lyon King of Arms.
28-Sheriffs Principal other than when within their own counties.
29-Knights Bachelor.
30-Sheriffs.
31-Companions of the Order of the Bath, then as in England.
Precedence of Ladies in Scotland is as in England except that the current Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, if a woman, comes after the Queen, and wives of Senators of the College of Justice, otherwise known as Lords of Session, rank with wives of Knights Bachelor.
