Burke’s Royal Families of Europe (December 2009)
Burke’s Royal Families of Europe is the first volume on royal genealogy to be published in over thirty years and is written by William Bortrick.
This unique work is a comprehensive Dictionary of European Royalty, reigning and non-reigning, major and minor. The volume features individual entries for over 50 Royal Houses, which have reigned in Europe since the nineteenth century. It suceeds Burke’s Royal Families of the World published in 1977 which has been described as ‘a super Almanach de Gotha.’
The volume is the definitive work on its subject and makes a significant contribution to European history. The entries comprise a biography of the Sovereign or present Head of the House, and a detailed narrative pedigree of the Royal Family. The book is fully illustrated with coats of arms and portraits.
